Molly’s Vineyard
Molly’s Vineyard is located off West Dry Creek Road in the benchland of Dry Creek Valley. This hillside vineyard site has a limited water supply, and the vines work extra hard to produce the dark, lush, fruit-forward Zinfandel flavors.
When it came time name this recently acquired Wilson Estate Vineyard, the Wilson family was a bit perplexed about who should be the vineyard’s namesake. Then one day as Diane Wilson watched her hard working Border Collie look for another job to do, it came to her. The vineyard from that day forward has been called Molly’s Vineyard in honor of Ken and Diane Wilson’s dog Molly, who loves to work as hard as the Zinfandel vines in her namesake vineyard.
Molly’s Vineyard has unusually deep hillside topsoil consisting of alluvial and volcanic composite. The soil and limited water allows the vines a slow, even rate of maturity despite the warm, western exposure.
