Eleanor "Ellie" Nolan

Eleanor Nolan is the only child of two Northern Italian immigrants from the Lake Como region of Piedmont, bringing many Italian traditions with them to America.  Ellie’s father made wine in their basement, and her parents served wine as a daily part of their lives—something Ellie passed along to her daughter, Diane Nolan Wilson.

Ellie Ravazzi married Robert Nolan in the early 1950’s and settled not far from where she grew up in Marin County. Robert and Ellie had a summer home in Forestville where Diane learned to love the bounty of Sonoma County, and also met Ken Wilson.

Zinfandel was the wine Ellie’s father produced in their basement and enjoyed with their family and friends. Ellie’s Vineyard Zinfandel is a tribute to Ellie Ravazzi Nolan and to her Italian heritage.
